FC Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday at the fortress recorded another clean sheet against Kano Pillars with a 2-0 win to extend their unbeaten run in the league to eight games. The Anambra Warriors technical crew made just one change to the side that recorded an emphatic win against Shooting Stars the previous weekend with Prince Aggreh getting the nod ahead of Bright Onyedikachi.
The highly anticipated encounter began with both sides poised for the kill, but it was the Galacticos that got the first action of the game as Valentine Nwabili’s drive was saved by David Obiozor very early in the game as the Anambra Warriors pressed for the curtain raiser and they got their wish in the 13th minute of the game through Godwin Obaje who scored in what is his 6th consecutive goal in the past 6 matches in the league after Tony Msonter squared the ball for Osanga who gave a delightful low cross for the hitman Godwin Obaje to bury it.
The goal spurred the visitors who pressed for an equalizer but were kept out on numerous occasions by Goalkeeper Drissa Bamba who kept out Nwagua Nyima’s belter and Rabiu Ali’s header to keep the scores in favour of FC Ifeanyi Ubah as Godwin Obaje and Tamen Medrano missed a couple of chances as the entertaining first half ended with the Anambra Warriors ahead by a lone goal.
The second half started with the Anambra Warriors coming out of the blocks immediately on the attack and the resultant pressure led Obaje’s cross to be handled by Alhassan Ibrahim giving away a penalty which the hitman Godwin Obaje confidently tucked it into the left bottom corner of the goal to get his brace sending Goalie David Obiozor the wrong way to give the Anambra Warriors a two goal cushion which was the way the game ended although the NPFL Galacticos could have gotten more goals as Stephen Eze’s header from Osanga’s corner was narrowly high above the upright with another ensuing melee in the box as the boots of Jamiu Alimi and Aloma Idris cleared the ball off the line in quick successions after a goal mouth scramble in which Pascal Seka and Godwin Obaje’s shots were stopped as midfielder John Huan made his debut in the game replacing Prince Aggreh in the 77th minute as the game gradually came to a crescendo after four minutes of added time by the fourth official.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah 2 (Godwin Obaje – 13′, 48′)

Next up for the Anambra Warriors is a trip to Lagos to face MFM FC in Matchday 22 of the Nigerian Professional Football League.
