The game continued with more midfield battles because the visitors sat back to absorbed pressures, at the 11th minute Osanga curled a freekick which narrowly hit the mark but went over. FC Ifeanyi Ubah Patrick Ikeokwu was fouled and the freekick taken by King Osanga was headed out by Plateau United defender Golbe Elisha, it rebounded back to Osanga who struck but Ajiboye saved the visitors. After three minutes FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s Tamen Medrano charged into the box and fires from range but Elisha Golbe defended it well to keep it one nil against Plateau United until the referee’s final whistle.
One unique feature in the FC Ifeanyi Ubah team was the revelation of Tony Msonter and Ikeokwu Patrick both gave Tamen Medrano more room to operate and spray his passes like fountain in the middle of the pack. We also saw Obaje making some defence disruptive runs into the box, he was very good off the ball as well as sheilding it from opponents. The team balance is gradually settling, more players need rest to enable them refresh and get to the top level once again. Yesterday’s display was encouraging, there is still room for improvement and we must build on it to get result. Anambra Warriors is a team with array of stars and as such players must compete for places to bring our the best in them. Rotation once again is the key word, taking the positivity and confidence obtained from beating the league leaders to Gombe, it will definitely yield points and results if sustained.
